The Mike Leeke Foundation is a fundraising organisation that has proudly supported the people of Western Australia since 2016.
Established in memory of a much-loved husband, friend, and community member, our foundation exists to turn loss into purpose by improving the lives of those affected by Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer.
We are a values-driven, support-focused organisation committed to making a tangible difference.
At the heart of what we do is a simple but powerful idea: that bringing people together through passion and purpose can lead to meaningful change.
The Foundation is not a registered charity in its own right. Instead, we operate in affiliation with GI Trials, a charitable organisation dedicated to advancing research into gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. Through this affiliation, funds raised through our events help support the important work being undertaken by GI Trials to improve treatment options, patient outcomes, and the future of GI cancer care.
To that end, we specialise in delivering premium, professionally-organised charity golf events that raise funds, foster community, and elevate awareness around GI cancer and its impact.
Our History
The idea for the Foundation began with a tribute. With the loving support of Mike’s wife, Leonie, and his cherished Kookaburra Golf Society, the Mike Leeke Classic was created to honour Mike’s legacy in the most meaningful way possible - by helping others.
The overwhelming success of the event inspired the creation of the Mike Leeke Foundation, transforming a single day of remembrance into a long-term mission of hope, impact, and support.

Our Committee
What sets us apart is not just the quality of our events, but the people behind them. Our committee members and event team are entirely volunteer-based.
These individuals, many of whom were close to Mike himself, donate their time, skills, and energy year-round to ensure every event we hold exceeds expectations and stays true to our mission.
